Property Tax Assistance
Homeowner and Renter Property Tax Reimbursement
If you are blind, disabled, or at least 62 years old,
have a total annual household income of $38,505 or less
and are a US Citizen or qualified alien, you may qualify
to participate in the Homeowner and Renter Assistance
program. This program provides cash reimbursements of
a portion of the property taxes paid on your home or residence.
Annual filing is required and the filing period for this
program is from July 1 through October 15. Call the State
of California Franchise Tax Board at 1-800-868-4171, or
go to http://www.ftb.ca.gov/individuals/hra/index.html

Property Tax Postponement
If you are blind, disabled, or at least 62 years old, and meet certain total annual household income limits, you may qualify to participate in the Property Tax Postponement program. The annual household income limits are as follows: For application year 2007 the limit is $31,500, for 2008 the limit is $35,500, and for 2009 the limit is $39,000. The postponed taxes are a
lien on the home and become due (with interest) upon
moving, the sale of the home, or death. Annual filing
is required and the filing period for this program is
from May 15 through December 10. Call the State of California
