California Assessor's Association
The CAA is a statewide non-profit professional
association for County Assessors which was formed
in 1902. The purpose of the Association is to
promote:
Cooperation between assessing officers in California;
- Improvement of California assessment procedures
and laws for the public good; and,
- Liaison with the State Board of Equalization
and the International Association of Assessing
Officers.

California Department of Conservation
Those of us who live in California derive great
benefit from the state's natural resources. With
that benefit comes the responsibility to use and
preserve our resources wisely, with both the economy
and the environment in mind. The Department of
Conservation works toward this goal through its
programs to safeguard farmland and open space
resources, regulate oil, gas and geothermal wells,
study and map earthquakes, landslides and mineral
resources, ensure reclamation of land used for
mining, and promote beverage container recycling.

California Department
of Forestry and Fire Protection
CDF is an emergency response and resource protection
agency: protecting lives, property and natural resources
from fire, responding to emergencies of all types,
and protecting and preserving our timberlands, wildlands,
and urban forest. CDF responds to an average of
6,300 wildland fires that burn nearly 144,000 acres
each year, as well as respond to more than 286,000
other emergencies.

California Department of Motor Vehicles
DMV registers vehicles in California and licenses
their drivers. This amounts to about 26 million
vehicles registered and approximately 20 million
licensed drivers. Other major DMV functions include
recording ownership (certificate of title) of
the vehicles DMV registers, maintaining driving
records (accidents and convictions) of licensed
drivers, issuing identification cards for individuals
registering and recording ownership of vessels,
and much more.

California Division of Aeronautics
The Division of Aeronautics administers noise
regulation and land use planning laws that foster
compatible land use around airports and encourages
environmental mitigation measures to lessen noise,
air pollution, and other impacts caused by aviation.
The Division of Aeronautics also provides grants
and loans for safety, maintenance and capital
improvement projects at airports.
