There is created a mental health department for the county, to be headed by the mental health director, which office is hereby created. (Ord. 544 § 1(part), 1992).

The mental health director shall be appointed by the board of supervisors and shall serve pursuant to county ordinances and rules. The salary for such office shall be such as is provided therefor in each annual salary resolution. (Ord. 544 § 1(part), 1992).

The duties of the mental health director and the mental health department shall be to serve as the county’s local mental health director, the county’s alcohol program administrator, and the county’s drug program administrator, and, as such, to carry out the duties prescribed by law and such other duties and assignments as may be prescribed from time to time by the board of supervisors. (Ord. 544 § 1(part), 1992).
