7.32.010 Closure when contaminated.

Whenever it is determined by the county health officer through testing and examination, that any lake, pond, pool, body of water impounded or stored behind a dam, dike, or levee, body of water in a reservoir or any other body of standing water, whether natural or artificial, within the county, is contaminated from any source whatsoever to such an extent that the health officer deems it unsafe or harmful to persons to come into contact therewith, the health officer may order any said area closed to motor boating, boating, swimming, or any other form of water recreation. (Ord. 231 § 1, 1957).

7.32.020 Closure when hazardous.

Whenever it is determined by the county health officer that the use of any lake, pond, pool, body of water impounded or stored behind a dam, dike or levee, body of water in a reservoir or any other body of standing water, whether natural or artificial, within the county is being used by boaters, swimmers or any other person or group in such a manner as to become hazardous to the health, safety or public welfare of any person or persons, the health officer may order any said area closed to motor boating, boating, swimming or any other form of water recreation. (Ord. 231 § 2, 1957).

7.32.030 Notice of closure.

When any body of water is ordered closed, as provided herein, the health officer shall give notice thereof to the public by posting notices at reasonable intervals surrounding the area closed. (Ord. 231 § 3, 1957).

7.32.040 Penalty for violations.

The penalty for violations of this chapter shall be as prescribed in Chapter 1.12 of this code. (Ord. 378 § 2(part), 1973: Ord. 231 § 4, 1957).
