10.18.010 Title and purpose.

This chapter shall be known as the “privately owned and maintained roads ordinance.” Vehicle Code applicable to privately owned and maintained roads as defined in this chapter. (Ord. 470B § 1(part), 1983: Ord. 470 § 1(part), 1982).

10.18.020 Findings.

The board of supervisors finds and declares that there are privately owned and maintained roads within the county that are not generally held open for use of the public for purposes of vehicular travel, but by reason of their proximity to or connection with highways the interests of any residents residing along such roads and the motoring public will best be served by application of provisions of the Vehicle Code to such roads. 10.18.030 Applicability of Vehicle Code.

The Vehicle Code shall be applicable to all privately owned and maintained roads as defined in this chapter. (Ord. 470B § 1(part), 1983: Ord. 470 § 1(part), 1982).

10.18.040 Posted notice.

Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 10.18.030, this chapter shall not apply to any privately owned and maintained road unless appropriate signs are erected at the entrance to the road of such size, shape and color as to be readily legible during daylight hours from a distance of one hundred feet, to the effect that the road is subject to the provisions of the Vehicle Code. The cost of such signs and their maintenance shall be borne wholly by the residents residing along such roads. (Ord. 470B § 1(part), 1983: Ord. 470A § 1, 1983: Ord. 470 § 1(part), 1982).

10.18.050 Definition.

As used in this chapter, the term “privately owned and maintained roads” means and refers to all roads located within the Yosemite Lakes Park Subdivision and the Pines Chalets. (Ord. 470B § 1(part), 1983: Ord. 470A § 2, 1983: Ord. 470 § 1(part), 1982).
