1.20.010 - Establishment.

Pursuant to municipal and justice court law, as amended, and other provisions of law applicable thereto, the judicial districts of the county and the names thereof are hereby established and fixed as provided and set forth in this chapter.

1.20.020 - Chowchilla Judicial District.

There is hereby established a judicial district, to be known and designated as the "Chowchilla Judicial District of the County of Madera, State of California." Said judicial district is described as: Beginning at the point at which the east section line of Section 1, T9S, R17E intersects the northern boundary of the county; thence south along the east line of said Section 1 and the extension thereof, to the east quarter corner of Section 24, T10S, R17E; thence west along the north line of the south half of said Section 24, to the east quarter corner of Section 23, T10S, R17E; thence south along the east line of said Section 23 and the extension thereof, to the east quarter corner of Section 11, T11S, R17E; thence west along the north line of the south half of said Section 11, to the center of said Section 11; thence south along the west line of the east half of said Section 11, to the south quarter corner of said Section 11; thence west along the south line of said Section 11 and the extension thereof, 4292.05 feet, more or less; thence north 1301.10 feet, more or less; thence west 990.56 feet, more or less, to a point on the east line of the west half of Section 10, T11S, R17E; thence north along the east line of the west half of said Section 10, to the south quarter corner of Section 3, TllS, R17E; thence west along the south line of said Section 3 and the extension thereof, to the northeast corner of Section 8, T11S, R17E; thence south along the east line of said Section 8 and the extension thereof, to the southeast corner of Section 32, TllS, R17E; thence west along the south line of said Section 32 and the extension thereof, to the southwest corner of Section 32, T11S, R16E; thence north along the west line of said Section 32 and the extension thereof, to the point at which said line intersects the centerline of the Fresno River; thence westerly along the centerline of said Fresno River, to the point at which said centerline intersects the north line of Section 17, TllS, R14E; thence west along the north line of said Section 17 and the extension thereof, to the point at which said line intersects the western boundary of the county; thence northerly along said boundary of the county, to the centerline of the Chowchilla River; thence easterly along the northern boundary of the county, to the point of beginning.

1.20.030 - Madera Judicial District.

There is established a judicial district, to be known and designated as the "Madera Judicial District" of the county. The boundaries of said judicial district shall be coincident with and identical to the boundaries of the City of Madera.

1.20.040 - Sierra Judicial District.

There is hereby established a judicial district, to be known and designated s the "Sierra Judicial District" of the county. Said judicial district is described as: Beginning at the point at which the west line of Section 6, T9S, R18E, intersects the northern boundary of the County of Madera; thence south along the west line of said Section 6 and the extension thereof, to the southwest corner of Section 6, T10S, R18E; thence east along the south line of said Section 6 and the extension thereof, to the south quarter corner of Section 3, T10S, R18E; thence north along the east line of the west half of said Section 3 and the extension thereof, to the south quarter corner of Section 22, T9S, R18E; thence east along the south line of said Section 22 and the extension thereof to the north quarter corner of Section 25, T9S, R18E; thence south along the east line of the west half of said Section 25 and the extension thereof, to the south quarter corner of Section 1, T10S, R18E; thence east along the south line of said Section 1, to the northwest corner of Section 7, T10S, R19E; thence south along the west line of said Section 7 and the extension thereof, to the southwest corner of Section 18, T10S, R19E; thence east along the south line of said Section 18 and the extension thereof, to the northwest corner of Section 21, T10S, R19E; thence south along the west line of said Section 21 and the extension thereof, to the southwest corner of Section 33, T10S, R19E, said point lying in the centerline of State Highway 145; thence easterly along the centerline of said State Highway 145 to its point of intersection with the centerline of State Highway 41; thence southerly along the centerline of said State Highway 41, to the south quarter corner of Section 21, T11S, R20E; thence easterly along the south line of said Section 21 and the extension thereof, to the southeastern boundary of the county; thence northeasterly along said boundary of the county, to the most easterly point of said Madera County; thence northwesterly along the northeastern boundary of the county, to the most northerly point of said Madera County; thence southwesterly along the northwestern boundary of the county, to the point of beginning.

1.20.050 - Borden Judicial District.

There is established a judicial district, to be known and designated as the "Borden Judicial District" of the county. Said judicial district is described as: Beginning at a point at which the centerline of the San Joaquin River (southerly boundary of the county of Madera) intersects the north Section line of Section 25, TllS, R20E; thence west along the north line of said Section 25 and extension thereof, to the point at which said line intersects the centerline of State Sign Route 41; thence northerly along said centerline of said Sign Route to the point at which said centerline intersects with the north section line of Section 4, T11S, R20E; thence west along said north line of said Section 4 and extension thereof, to the northwest corner of Section 4, T11S, R19E; thence north three miles to the northeast corner of Section 20, T10S, R19E; thence west two miles to the northwest corner of Section 19, T10S, R19E; thence north two miles to the northeast corner of Section 12, T10S, R18E; thence west one-half mile to the ½ section line of Section 1, T10S, R18E; thence north three miles to the north section line of Section 25, T9S, R18E; thence west two miles to the ½ section line of Section 27, T9S, R18E; thence south three miles to the south section line of Section 3, T10S, R18E; thence west three and one-half miles, more or less, to the northwest corner of Section 7, T10S, R18E; thence south along the west line of said Section 7 and the extension thereof, to the east quarter corner of Section 24, T10S, R17E; thence west along the north line of the south half of said Section 24, to the east quarter corner of Section 23, T10s, R17E; thence south along the east line of said Section 23 and the extension thereof, to the east quarter corner of Section 11, T11S, R17E; thence west along the north line of the south half of said Section 11 to the center of said Section 11; thence south along the west line of the east half of said Section 11, to the south quarter corner of said Section 11; thence west along the south line of said Section 11 and the extension thereof, 4292.05 feet, more or less; thence north 1301.10 feet, more or less; thence west 990.56 feet, more or less, to a point on the east line of the west half of Section 10, T11S, R17E; thence west along the south line of said Section 3 and the extension thereof, to the northeast corner of Section 8 T11S, R17E; thence south along the east line of said Section 8 and the extension thereof, to the southeast corner of Section 32, T11S, R17E; thence west along the south line of said Section 32 and the extension thereof, to the southwest corner of Section 32T11S, R16E; thence north along the west line of said Section 32 and the extension thereof, to the point at which said line intersects the centerline of the Fresno River; thence westerly along the centerline of said Fresno River, to the point at which said centerline intersects the north line of Section 17 and the extension thereof, to the point at which said line intersects the western boundary of the county; thence in a counter-clockwise direction, along said boundary to the point of beginning; EXCEPTING THEREFROM that area which lies within the boundaries of the city of Madera.
