MAINTENANCE DISTRICT 36, EASTIN ARCOLA
Maintenance District 36, Eastin Arcola, is located in the
area of Avenue 8 and Road 29 ½, southeast of the City of
Madera in Madera County. The district provides sewer and
water service to 16 homes within the district. In addition,
water service is provided under contract to 3 homes outside
the district, as well as to Eastin Arcola Elementary School.
Two lots within the district are not yet connected.
Each home in the district has its own septic tank and seepage
pit. The sewer service provided by the district consists
of having the tanks pumped every other year or as needed.
In the past, we have hired Bass & Sons Septic Pumping
to do this and usually arrange for half of the houses be
pumped on alternating years. Should more frequent pumping
be required, residents are asked to contact us to make those
arrangements.
Water is supplied by one deep well drawing from an aquifer
approximately 400 feet underground. The well produces an
estimated 340 gallons per minute. The water enters a pressurized
distribution system constructed from asbestos cement pipe.
The school also has a well that can be utilized by manually
opening a valve to the distribution system. Usually this
well is used to supply the school’s irrigation needs, while
the district’s well supplies their drinking water. This
water system is not chlorinated.
Madera County Engineering Department routinely monitors
for contaminants in your drinking water according to Federal
and State laws. Our constant goal is to provide you with
a safe and dependable water supply. A Consumer Confidence
Report is prepared annually and delivered to all residents
served by the water district. These reports, prepared especially
for this district, are available for viewing below. Adobe
Acrobat Reader, which may be downloaded free of charge from
Adobe’s website, is required to view and/or print them.
Be aware that there is a one year lag time in these reports;
i.e., the report dated 2004 contains test results collected
in 2004, but the report is not written or released until
approximately June, 2005. Future dates will be posted as
they become available.
