SERVICE AREA 3, PARKSDALE
Service Area 3, Parksdale, is located in the area of Road
28½ and Avenue 13½. The district provides sewer and water
service to its residents. There are approximately 510 active
residential and commercial connections with 46 remaining
standby connections.
The sewer system consists of a plastic pipe collection
system, a raw sewage pumping station, and one metering station.
After flowing through the metering station, the wastewater
becomes the responsibility of the City of Madera. City fees
for sewage disposal are passed on to each district resident
connected to the sewer system.
The water system has two deep wells drawing form an aquifer
about 216 to 480 feet below ground. The wells produce an
estimated 1,900 gallons per minute, which supplies a pressurized
system. Water is distributed through asbestos cement pipe.
One well is powered by a generator during power outages.
The water is not chlorinated.
Madera County Engineering Department routinely monitors
for contaminants in your drinking water according to Federal
and State laws. Our constant goal is to provide you with
a safe and dependable water supply. A Consumer Confidence
Report is prepared annually and delivered to all residents
served by the water district. These reports, prepared especially
for this district, are available for viewing below. Adobe
Acrobat Reader, which may be downloaded free of charge from
Adobe’s website, is required to view and/or print them.
Be aware that there is a one year lag time in these reports;
i.e., the report dated 2004 contains test results collected
in 2004, but the report is not written or released until
approximately June, 2005. Future dates will be posted as
they become available.
