Microchip Information

At Madera County Animal Services, we use 24 PetWatch for our microchip supplier. These microchips are electronic devices that are implanted in the animals that are adopted from us. They can be detected by other shelters and most veterinarians should your animal become separated from you.

The cost for this service is:

  • $10 if coinciding with an adoption
  • $20 for an owned animal (with proof of license)

It is very important that should you move, change your contact information, or the animal goes to a new home, that the ownership information is kept current. Without current information, the pet cannot be reunited with its owner. To update your information for your pet that has a 24 PetWatch microchip, please contact www.24PetWatch.com.

If you are thinking about getting a Chihuahua, Dachshund or other toy breed, please consider beginning your search at the shelter. Our cages are always overflowing with little dogs desperate for a chance to live.

If you are looking for Cats or Kittens, we have a never ending supply. So if you want one, come on down. You can adopt the pick of the litter, literally!
