Tobacco Control & Education Program

Provide technical assistance to school districts, health organizations, governments, and private citizens on health issues regarding tobacco prevention and environmental tobacco smoke. Training is available to the business community regarding the “Smoke Free Work Place Law”. The program is represented by a tobacco control coalition that meets on a regular basis, providing community involvement into health issues related to tobacco use. All services are available in English and Spanish.

Program priorities include:

  • Reduce exposure to environmental tobacco smoke
  • Reduce youth access to tobacco products
  • Counter pro-tobacco influences

As the primary Tobacco Control Agency in Madera County, we are responsible for the coordination of information, outreach, media and educational activities within our jurisdiction.
