March Staff Spotlight

Christina Knudsen_ How long have you worked for the County? In June 2014, it will be 3 years.
What do you like most about your job? I enjoy working with the public.  It’s especially rewarding to hear County residents commend us on our projects and our work efforts toward providing exceptional service to our constituents.
Why did you decide to work for the County? I was first drawn to the County because of the many different types of engineering projects that I would have the opportunity to undertake involving drinking water, sewer, and flood control projects.
What is your most memorable accomplishment during your County career? The Engineering Department, in conjunction with the Bass Lake Sewer Advisory Committee, worked hard last year to educate the Bass Lake Community about the significant need for the proposed sewer system improvements.  In a landside vote, the community approved the proposed sewer projects last September during the Proposition 218 election, which can be attributed to our successful public outreach. I’m very excited about the next step of this project, which will involve the design of new and/or improved facilities.
When I'm not at work you can find me...Hiking!  I’m looking forward to another year of great hikes within the County. I’m especially looking forward to experiencing the Willow Creek and Angel Falls trails for the very first time.
What was your first job? Working as a party hostess at Camelot (now Boomer’s).
What is your favorite food? I absolutely love seafood! It’s my weakness besides chocolate.
What is your favorite kind of music? It’s hard to name just one genre because I love a wide spectrum of music.  My music collection includes jazz, indie rock, alternative, pop and even rap.
What is your favorite sports team?
If you were to travel anywhere in the world for a dream vacation, where would it be? One day I would love to travel to Paris, France specifically to enjoy the infamous hot chocolate and experience the original La Maison du Chocolate.
Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years, I hope to have earned a Senior Engineer position here at the County.
