County of Madera

Emergency Communications

Madera County is now issuing critical warnings to citizens county-wide. Should there ever be a threat to their health or safety, you can receive notifications on your cell phone by registering online.

Registration of Phone Numbers

The MC Alert Emergency Warning System database already houses landline phone numbers. If you want to be reached by other means such as cellular phone, work phone, email, fax, and via instant messaging, you MUST register that information. All information you provide will be kept strictly confidential.

Use of the System

MC Alert is used to deliver alerts when there is a threat to the health or safety of residents.

How it Works

The process begins when MS Alert sends out a message about a potential safety hazard or concern. Messages may be sent to all standard voice and text communication devices, including landline phone numbers, cellular phone numbers, faxes and email. If you do not confirm receipt of the message, the system may continue trying to contact you until it receives a confirmation from you.

There is no cost to register additional phone numbers in the MC Alert database. MC Alert is a free service provided by the Madera County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services and participating cities.

Keep in mind Cellular phone service companies may apply a service charge to your cellular phone bill if you receive alerts by way of cellular calls and/or text messaging. Madera County is not responsible for any charges that may be incurred as a result of receiving these alerts on your cell phone.
