Laboratory Analyses

We provide analyses for the protection of the public’s health by assessing the incidence of and preventing the spread of a wide range of infectious diseases in the community. Testing procedures include rabies, (for more information on rabies, visit the Animal Control Department web page) chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, tuberculosis, parasitic diseases, salmonella, E. coli, and other enteric diseases. Analyses are performed on human specimens, animal specimens and environmental samples. Additional areas of testing include abused drug screening and water chemical analyses. Other areas of responsibility include consultation to health care providers.
