
Laboratory Analyses
We provide analyses for the protection of the publics
health by assessing the incidence of and preventing the spread
of a wide range of infectious diseases in the community. Testing
procedures include rabies, (for more information on rabies, visit
the Animal Control Department web page) chlamydia, gonorrhea,
syphilis, tuberculosis, parasitic diseases, salmonella, E. coli,
and other enteric diseases. Analyses are performed on human specimens,
animal specimens and environmental samples. Additional areas
of testing include abused drug screening and water chemical analyses.
Other areas of responsibility include consultation to health
care providers.
