
Provide technical assistance to school districts, health organizations,
governments, and private citizens on health issues regarding
tobacco prevention and environmental tobacco smoke. Training
is available to the business community regarding the Smoke
Free Work Place Law. The program is represented by a tobacco
control coalition that meets on a regular basis, providing community
involvement into health issues related to tobacco use. All services
are available in English and Spanish.
Program priorities include:
- Reduce exposure to environmental tobacco smoke
- Reduce youth access to tobacco products
- Counter pro-tobacco influences
As the primary Tobacco Control Agency in Madera County, we
are responsible for the coordination of information, outreach,
media and educational activities within our jurisdiction.
