

Revenue Services is a division of the Auditor/Controller's office that was originally
established in 1991 by Denis F. Welser. The main goal at that time was
the collection of Public Defender Fees.
Our department now collects for payments of court fines & fees, victim restitution,
and other obligations from various departments such as:
- Administration
- Agriculture Department
- Animal Control
- Auditor/Controller
- Engineering
- Environmental Health
- Human Resources
- Library - overdue and lost books
- Resource Management Agency
- Tax Collector

Purpose of Revenue Services Division
This office is responsible for collecting unpaid debts to Madera
County. The majority of unpaid debts. are related to civil &
criminal fines. Our purpose is to function as a centralized
collection department by providing professional collection services
for the resolution of debts owed to the County of Madera.

Professional and Specialized Collection Services
The department of Revenue Services provides professional and
specialized collection services, including:
- Billing, cashiering and general collections;
- Assessing ability to pay and collectibility of debts;
- Obtaining and enforcing judgments on delinquent accounts;
Responsibilities of Revenue Services:
- Employ professional and cost-effective collection practices;
- Diligently follow-up on delinquent accounts;
- Strive to reduce collection costs by working with other county
departments to improve specific processes and procedures
unique to those departments;
- Provide cost and revenue projections to each county
department for budget preparation and reporting purposes;
- Provide information that substantiates accomplishment of
Revenue Services mission.
