NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), Madera, California will hold a PUBLIC MEETING to consider the following:
The City of Madera has initiated an “island annexation” pursuant to Government Code Sections 56375.3 and 56375.4. This report represents an annexation of the “Island Annexation No. 2” area, of approximately 134.03 acres that consists of developed commercial, industrial and residential uses. The area is generally located north of Kennedy Avenue, east of Highway 99, and southwest of Adell and Owens Street. At the hearing, the Commission will consider any protest or other comments, oral and written testimony by any interested person or affected agency, and the report of the Executive Officer. The City of Madera has prepared a mitigated negative declaration on the project and these documents will be reviewed and considered by the Commission concerning the proposed annexation. The application, map, and environmental documents may be examined at the Madera County Planning Department, 2037 W Cleveland Avenue, Madera, California. Notice of Intent to Waive Protest Proceedings
It is the intent of the Commission to waive subsequent protest and election proceedings unless written opposition so such waiver of subsequent protest and election proceedings is received prior to the conclusion of the Commission meeting. Written opposition to the Commission’s intent to waive subsequent protest and election proceedings may be filed with the Madera LAFCo Executive Officer, 2037 West Cleveland Avenue, Madera, CA 93637.
The PUBLIC MEETING will be held at the regular LAFCO Commission on Tuesday September 11, 2007, at 6:00p.m. in the Madera County Resource Management Agency Building,
2037 W Cleveland Ave., Madera California.

The City of Madera has prepared and certified an Environmental Impact Report of the project and these documents will be reviewed and considered by the Commission concerning the proposed annexation.
