Welcome to my website. There are challenging
times ahead but based on my interactions with constituents
in District One, I am optimistic
that those challenges will be met. I am committed to keeping
all lines of communications open. I am very pleased that this
site provides yet another opportunity for us to have contact
with one another.
I was elected to the Madera County Board of Supervisors in 1999 and reelected in 2002 and 2006. I served as Chairman of the Board in 2002 and 2006. During the 112th Annual Meeting for the California
State Association of California Counties (CSAC), I was elected to serve as President for 2007. I previously served as the 2006 First Vice President and served on the CSAC Executive Committee and chaired the CSAC Housing, Land Use & Transportation Policy Committee in 2004.
As part of my Supervisor duties, I have been appointed to serve on numerous boards and
commissions. From time to time there are openings
for public participation on many of these boards and committees.
I would like to encourage you to consider applying for an
appointment to fill one of these vacancies when they become
available.
My goal is to continually improve the quality
of life for all of Madera County and provide responsive service
to my constituents. Currently I am working with both residents
and staff on various projects
throughout District One.
Madera County is growing fast and faces many
exciting challenges and opportunities. I have promised to
focus on several important concerns, regional transportation,
water issues, and jobs, while not ignoring many of the other
critical issues.
I hope you find this website useful and informative.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or
concerns.
