Welcome to my website. I hope you find this page useful when seeking information on District 5, which includes thousands of miles of Sierra National Forest, Yosemite National Park and the beautiful mountain communities of Oakhurst, North Fork, Coarsegold, Ahwahnee and Bass Lake.
As the newest Madera County Supervisor, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I have been a resident of Eastern Madera County for 50 years. My biography is unique in that I have experience as a rancher, businessman, logger, builder and avid community supporter.
Since I assumed office in January 2007, I have worked diligently to solve many of the growth-related issues we face in District 5, including water, traffic, jobs and housing. I have also continuously supported County policies that promote property rights, conservation and common sense solutions to our county's problems. At every opportunity, I have made it a point to work collaboratively with my fellow Supervisors to ensure that no part of Madera County is ignored.
I have also set a number of project goals I plan to accomplish for the District.
Please call me at (559) 662-6050 or e-mail tom.wheeler@madera-county.com if I can ever be of assistance. I truly believe an open-door policy is a necessity in government. For more information, please visit my website at www.supervisortomwheeler.com.
If you are interested in serving on any of the various committees that address issues in Eastern Madera County, please contact me. We are blessed to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth and it is up to us to work together to conserve what we have and provide for responsible growth in the future.
Your Supervisor,
Tom Wheeler
